Kayaking, sailing, hiking, relaxing and ancient history paired with delicious food and local wine - doesn't that sound like the trip you have been looking for?
Frequenty Asked Questions
Q: Do I need previous kayaking experience?
A: No, many novices join this trip. Our kayaks are very seaworthy and easy to handle. Our guides primary role is to keep you safe and comfortable, both on and off the water. Your guides will teach participants all the required skills through an "orientation to safe sea kayaking" on your first day and as required throughout your trip. You can expect your technique will refine over the course of the trip (with tips from your guides) while you begin to feel like a seasoned paddler.
Q: What type of weather conditions will we likely encounter in the area?
A: Sardinia is a great vacation destination from March through November, with spring and fall offering ideal temperatures for kayaking and hiking (July and August are very hot!). In September there is still plenty of sunshine, but temperatures will drop in the evenings and hence creating the best season for being active!
Q: I am a single traveler. Do most people come with a partner or friend?A: The average group consists of two couples, a couple of friends and single travelers with an even ratio of male to female. We will team up single travelers to a berth partner of the same gender.
Q: Do you have single kayaks?
A: While the fleet consists mainly of tandem kayaks, there are a limited number of single kayaks available. Please do confirm their availability with our office.
Q: How big are the groups?
A: Our maximum group size is 8 participants for this particular trip, plus your crew/guides.
Q: Is Sardinia safe?
A: Sardinians are a rather reserved and prideful culture showing respect towards each other and their natural surroundings. They certainly notice non-islanders and will gratefully receive a smile or any attempt to communicate with them. There are small pockets of extremists who would like to separate from mainland Italy and be their own country, but they pay no attention to tourists and are basically harmless.
Q: Do Sardinians speak English?
A: Most Sardinians are bi-lingual yet neither of those languages is English. In fact very few Sardinians know English. Sardinians speak their own language called Sardo which is an official Latin based language. The majority of them also speak Italian.
Q: Are there opportunities to go shopping?
A: Yes. While most of our days are spent in the mountains or on the sea, there are opportunities to shop locally. We can also recommend places to find nice Sardinian souvenirs. If there is something in particular you are looking to buy, please don’t hesitate to ask!
