Spend your days kayaking with whale and wildlife at Robson Bight Basecamp and you’ll build up quite a hunger, there’s no doubt about it. Quench your cravings with wholesome and nourishing meals of west coast favourites served seaside or, at our Beach Café.
We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it really holds true at Robson Bight Basecamp. Fuelled up you’ll have all the energy you’ll need to kayak and whale watch on the Johnstone Strait. Energize your kayaking adventure with breakfasts of fresh fruits, eggs, pancakes, and granolas. Breakfast is served at 8 a.m. and features a different menu each morning.
Lunch is always served seaside, on a quiet shore, a deserted island or pebbly beach while out exploring for whales. Your guides will bring along all the fixings and all you’ll need to do is work up an appetite!
Enjoy a lunchtime break after a morning of kayaking. Stretch your legs, shake out your arms and dive into a picnic of freshly made sandwiches, salads, fresh fruits, vegetables, hummus, chips, and cookies. Drink in the rugged beauty of the Johnstone Strait while drinking in plenty of water, re-hydrating for your afternoon paddle. Beach comb for shells and unique rock formations, or have a siesta on the shore while waiting for whales to appear, it’s all about living in sync with nature out here.
With the abundant exercise you’ll have at Robson Bight Basecamp it’s important to keep your energy levels stoked at all times. Indulge in mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack breaks while drifting and bobbing in the water. Granola bars, cookies, biscuits and sweet chocolates all help keep your strength up while out on the water. There will be plenty of breaks to enjoy those treats, while floating in kelp beds, watching sea lions cavort, waiting for fog to recede, or revelling in a passing school of porpoises.
When you return to base camp, relive your day on the water, gathered with others at the Beach Café, sampling a variety of appetizers, steaming hot mugs of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.
Group consensus determines if you dine at our Beach Café, or right by the shore. Either way, you’ll be in for a treat when our guides call you down for dinner.
