Basecamp Expectations

Take the Guesswork Out of Adventure Vacation Planning

Our goal is to enhance your adventure by taking the guesswork out of planning and allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring experience of kayaking with whales in Johnstone Strait. We believe that by providing you with detailed information in advance, we can make this once-in-a-lifetime adventure as memorable and stress-free as possible.

Coastal Camping Life

Kayakers in tent, enjoying coastal camping on Telegraph Cove kayaking tourAt Robson Bight Basecamp, time seems to slow down, synchronizing to the gentle rhythm of the tides. Life here is languid, where the outside world is a world away.  Witness a magnificent sunset, watch for playful whales, and listen to captivating stories by the campfire.

Take pleasure in the simplicity of the rustic camping experience, where just enough creature comforts make you feel warm and cozy. A tranquil tent nestled in the lush rainforest is your private sanctuary after an exciting day of kayaking the Johnstone Strait. You'll revel in the generous space, waterproofing, Therma-rests, sleeping bags, tent pads, and pillows for a serene slumber under the dazzling stars.

The Beach Café camp kitchen is where you feast on hearty and wholesome meals, while you admire the spectacular view of the bay and the islands beyond. Savor a steamy cup of coffee or tea and let our gracious guides take care of everything, even the details of washing the dishes - so you won't have to lift a finger.

Unwind by the roaring bonfire and the pebbled beach gathering with newfound friends in the morning and night or try the Wobbly Bear Spa where we have two hot water showers to relax and clean up before dinner!

Kayak Johnstone Strait – No Experience Required

hree double kayaks with kayakers enjoying scenic ocean paddling on Telegraph Cove tourOur expeditions are a fantastic opportunity for paddlers of all ages and skill levels to join us. Even if you've never kayaked before, you're still welcome to join. Each day we spend four to six hours exploring the Johnstone Strait, and whale watching with orcas. We begin most days with a refreshing breakfast, before heading out to sea in our kayaks. We return in the late afternoon, having had a truly unforgettable experience. While paddling is the main focus of our expeditions, we also take plenty of breaks for snacking, enjoying our picnic lunches, and taking in the natural beauty of our surroundings.
